Hello everyone! 

Welcome to the 2nd devlog post for Shape Shifters! 

Last time we went over the basic ideas and concept of Shape Shifters and as promised today we will be going over some lore and world building! 

There are also some development updates so I've made sure to seperate the two if you just want to read one thing and not the other. Without further ado, let's get started!

Story/Lore

Today we'll be going over the setting of Shape Shifters, a planet known as Kaos 

Most of Kaos is dark desolate land overrun by monstrous creatures known as Mutants. 

The Mutants are mindless savage beasts with only one goal: To devour everything in sight. They grow stronger with each consumption as they assimilate any Shape unlucky enough to be their victim into their own bodies. 

There is hope however, a great blue barrier protects a lush green land where the Shapes reside.

Here the Shapes lead mostly prosperous and happy  lives although they are split between three main Kingdoms

The Cubes, Triangles, and Spheres.

The three rarely interact with each other and it is strictly forbidden to enter a Kingdom different from your own. 

Nobody knows why this is the case. 

There are no records of history or a past to look to for answers. The planet has just always been as it is. 

Although some Shapes just can't shake the feeling that at one point things were different.

Game Updates!

Welcome to the Dev part of the Devlog! We'll be going over how the game has progressed since last time.

Today I added a particle effect for the double jump to make it feel more impactful.

I personally think it looks quite nice but I'd love your feedback on it!

I also fixed a bug relating to enemies not facing the correct direction when attacking and I have brightened up the scene and replaced some of the screenshots on the page with the brighter versions because wow those screenshots were dark. 

Well that's all for today, I quite like this format where I go over some story points and some development updates so I'll probably be sticking to that.
