Shape Shifters Devlog #3!


Hello everyone! Welcome again to the Shape Shifters Devlog! Today we'll be introducing our protagonist and going over some changes! As always I'll split the two segments so you can just skip ahead to either one! 


Story/Lore 

Today we'll be introducing our Main Character, Fora 


Fora is the commander of the cube kingdoms defense force. 

The great barrier is not infallible and sometimes hordes of mutants break through. At times like these, instead of standing back and giving orders Fora prefers to fight on frontlines alongside his comrades. He has a sister named Mel who he'd protect with all his life.


You'll find out more about his character when the in development build releases on November 1st ;)!


Game Changes/Updates

Got quite a few things done today actually. 

I've decided to expand the map since what I had previously was on the short side, added tons of new routes and interwoven tunnels to increase that metroidvania feel. 


I also finally got rid of the ugly text underneath the health bar that indicated whether the player was in heal or add mode. Instead Fora's scarf will change colors to indicate the different modes, green for healing and purple for adding to max health.




I was conflicted on whether to make it green or red when healing, but I ended up just sticking with green, I'd love to hear your opinions on which would look better though!


I've also brightened up the color of the health bar itself to make it easier to see.
